Loma del Mar is an important leisure and wellness resort specializing in both thalasso and spa sophisticated facilities and revitalizing treatments. These two concepts and practices are distinct from each other.
Thalassotherapy is based on the therapeutic and curative effects of seawater (the term thalasso comes from Greek), and is relatively new in the Americas. The oldest and most fashionable thalasso resorts are located primarily in France and Spain. Loma del Mar's signature thalasso pool (see photo above, left) is unique because it is situated outdoors, thanks to the year-around tropical climate in Ixtapa.
Spa is a term from the acronym for Sanus per Aquam in Latin, meaning "health through water". Ours is a full-service spa with extensive facilities and a wide selection of therapeutic and beatification procedures performed by highly regarded professionals.
