VIA MEXICO CITY HUB:
Mexico's flag carriers, Aeromexico and Mexicana both operate several nonstop flights throughout the day between their Mexico City hub (MEX) and Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo. These cumfortable flights (just over a half hour in the air) are via their respective commuter subsidiaries, Aeromexico Connect and Mexicana Click.
Both airlines operate international nonstops from their many gateways throughout the USA and Canada to MEX with seamless connections to ZIH.
FROM EUROPE:
Aeromexico operates nonstop flights from Madrid, Barcelona Paris and Rome to MEX, all with connections to ZIH. Mexicana recently inaugurated service from London and from Madrid to MEX with connections to ZIH.
Aeromexico and Mexicana also serve CENTRAL AND SOUTH AMERICA.

Travel tips and caveats
BY LAND:
Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo is just a 3-hour drive from ACAPULCO along Highway 200, or a 4-hour bus ride with frequent deluxe bus service throughout the day.
With the new toll highway from Michoacan, the colonial state capital of MORELIA is 3 hours by car; PATZCUARO 2 hours 40 minutes (slightly longer via deluxe bus).

With the new toll highway from MORELIA, Michoacan State's "Aristocratic Colonial Capital", picturesque PATZCUARO, these inland cultural destinations can be combined with the beach destination of Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo.
Morelia is a 3-1/2 hour drive to Ixtapa and Loma del Mar; Patzcuaro 3 hours (both a bit longer via deluxe bus).
Loma del Mar has created "sisterhoods" with select hotels in both these colonial cities to offer the perfect combination.
